Robert E. Detrich DDS


A native of Hagerstown, Maryland, Dr. Detrich received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1972. After graduating, he spent 2 years working with the Indian Health division of the United States Public Health Service in Oklahoma. From 1974 until 1976 he was the Head of the Department of Dentistry at Mid-Maine Medical Center in Waterville, Maine where he ran a federal program for disadvantaged children. During this time he was also an associate instructor at Westbrook School of Dental Hygiene in Portland, Maine and an associate professor at Tuft's University School of Dentistry. For the 1976-77 school year he was an associate professor of Pediatric Dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. Detrich is a hot air balloon and airplane pilot! At each office appointment, our patients may place their name in our hot air balloon box - every 3 months we have a random drawing and the winner receives a free ride for 2 people in Dr. Detrich's hot air balloon, "Confidence, Too"! So our patient-winner can not only "Smile With Confidence," but also Fly With "Confidence, Too"!

Caitlin S. Batchelor DDS

Dr. Caitlin Stangel Batchelor, a native Virginian, received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical College of Virginia. She completed advanced post-graduate dental training at Wake Forest University Medical Center in a two-year general practice dental residency.With practice experience in offices in Warrenton, Virginia and San Francisco, California, she can meet your needs - large or small - related to the appearance of your smile, your ability to eat efficiently, or your overall dental health.

Dr. Batchelor looks forward to working together with each of you to help to achieve optimal oral health and a beautiful smile by providing the highest quality dental care with an individualized approach. With her gentle, caring style, and her respectful, patient-centered approach, she will earn your trust to care for you and your family for many years to come. Courtney Scott RDH, Hygienist


Courtney received her degree in Dental Hygiene at Farmingdale State University of New York. For the past 7 years she has enjoyed assisting patients to achieve and maintain a healthy smile. Courtney has been a member of our team since 2008, the same year she got married.  She enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and getting lost in a good book.

Isabel Morales, Dental Assistant


Isabel is orginially from Mexico but moved to the United States in 2001.  She graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 2005.  Isabel is our only fully bilingual dental assistant in Spanish and English.  After high school she got her Certificate of Provider Health from the Virginia State Health Department in 2006.

Isabel is the mother of a beautiful young daughter, Andrea (aka. Andy).  She enjoys helping patients feel comfortable in the dental chair and helping them to "Smile with Confidence" or "Sonrie con Confiansa".  Beginning in 2010, Isabel has been a volunteer at the Harrisonburg Free Clinic and at the James Madison University's promoter of health program (Promotoras de Salud) for the Hispanic community.  At both offices she enjoys sharing her knowledge of the dental field to help others understand the importance of good oral hygiene.

Joanne Koops, Dental Assistant


Joanne graduated from high school in Harrisonburg and has worked as a dental assistant on and off since 2005.  She trained in Ireland and took the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (U.K.), May 2006.  She recently received her Bachelor of Art degree from James Madison University.

Joanne lives in Harrisonburg with her husband Zach, and cat, Sufjan.  She loves seeing anxious patients overcome their fear of dental treatment and take ownership of their dental care.  Whenever she can, Joanne enjoys crafts of all kinds, gardening, eating healthy, and savoring quiet moments with a cup of tea.

Robin Campbell, Receptionist


Robin graduated from Fort Defiance High School, and lived most of her life in the Shenandoah Valley. Robin recently moved back to Virginia, after living for seven years in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Montana. Robin has many years of experience in the customer service and hospitality industry and is looking forward to extending that service to you.

Robin and her husband, Eric, have two children, Zephaniah and Julia. She enjoys the rich history of the Shenandoah Valley, as well as photography, hiking, fishing and spending quality time with her family and friends.
